XS80s does exactly what the name promises: nothing but the music of the 1980s, plus listener requests. The station broadcasts on low-power FM — heard on 107.7 in Albany, Auckland, since 2019, with an earlier outlet on 95.8 in Tākaka, Golden Bay, dating from 2016 — and streams online. Synth-pop, new wave, hair metal and chart pop from the decade of big hair and bigger choruses rotate around the clock, with request shows letting listeners steer the playlist.
