The Ski FM Network is the Central North Island's local hit-music service, run by Central Media Group from Ohakune and built around life on the volcanic plateau. Its frequencies stitch together the Ruapehu ski towns and their neighbours: 91.8 at Ohakune and South Ruapehu, 105.4 at National Park, 91.1 for Taumarunui, 87.8 for Taupō and Tūrangi, 90.0 at Taihape and 93.6 in Whanganui. The format is contemporary hits with a local accent — snow reports, road conditions and community news for the towns beneath Mt Ruapehu.
