SomaFM's Folk Forward looks ahead while standing in the folk tradition: contemporary singer-songwriters, indie folk, alt-country and Americana, mixed with the roots music that inspired them. It is one of dozens of hand-built channels from SomaFM, the San Francisco internet radio pioneer Rusty Hodge launched in 2000 — listener-supported, commercial-free and stubbornly human in its programming.
