8Radio is a Dublin-based online station playing, in its own words, 'music we like' — quality alternative and indie from across the decades, from PJ Harvey to the Human League. It was founded by Simon Maher, who previously set up the much-loved Phantom 105.2, and launched online in 2013 after Phantom's closure. Alongside its 24-hour stream, 8Radio has periodically returned to FM in Dublin on temporary licences, and mellows its playlist after dark.
