Auckland's Retro Hit Radio is a love letter to the 80s and 90s. First broadcast on Waitangi Day, 6 February 2004, on low-power FM in South Auckland, it moved online after its 88.1 FM years and relaunched as an internet station on 11 December 2013. The playlist recreates what New Zealand, Australian, UK and US hit radio actually sounded like in the era — pop, rock, new wave, grunge, old-school hip hop and power ballads, much of it gloriously unflogged — with features like the 80s Lunch and 90s at Night.
