Paekākāriki 88.2 FM is the volunteer-run voice of Paekākāriki, the small coastal village on the Kāpiti Coast. Run as a non-profit under Paekākāriki Informed Community — the group behind the former Paekākāriki Xpressed newspaper — the station grew from a loose local collective in 2012 and first broadcast in February 2013. Its schedule is proudly homemade: school shows, poetry, country, jazz and the flagship community magazine show Te Pae sit alongside locally made music programmes. It also provides community information and a civil-defence voice for the village in emergencies.
