Raglan Community Radio has been the soundtrack of the Whāingaroa surf coast since the mid-1990s, broadcasting on 98.1 FM from a 100-watt transmitter on the foothills of Mt Karioi above the town. Operating from a single room in the Raglan Town Hall on Bow Street, it relies on a part-time manager and more than twenty volunteer DJs. Its flagship Morning Show tackles the issues Raglan actually argues about — the coastal environment, council decisions, surf and community events — alongside an eclectic volunteer music schedule.
