Seattle's KEXP is listener-powered music radio with a global cult following. Born in 1972 as tiny student station KCMU at the University of Washington, it grew into a nonprofit tastemaker famous for championing indie rock and new discovery. Its in-studio sessions and video performances draw millions online, yet the mission stays the same: music chosen by human DJs, funded by the people who listen.
