Galaxy FM 100.2, the self-styled 'Zzina' station, is Kampala's urban youth broadcaster, founded by media entrepreneur Innocent Nahabwe and on air since 2013. Broadcasting in a mix of Luganda and English, it built its name on playing mostly Ugandan music — at least 70 percent local content — at a time when foreign hits dominated playlists. Its annual Zzina Awards, running since 2014, have become a fixture of the Ugandan entertainment calendar.
