Energy 106 is Belfast's dance station, a name with cult status in Northern Ireland. It began in 1996 as Energy 106.6, an unlicensed station beamed into Belfast from a transmitter site in County Monaghan, and built a devoted following before falling silent in 2004. Revived online under Danny Creggan, it made a legal return to the airwaves on DAB across Northern Ireland in 2025. Its mix of club anthems, throwbacks and presenter-led shows reconnects a generation of Belfast ravers with the soundtrack of their youth.
