Radio Maria Ireland is the country's Catholic radio station, part of the worldwide World Family of Radio Maria that began in Italy in the 1980s. It began pilot broadcasts on 13 May 2015, the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, from its base at Ballymount in Dublin, and is run largely by volunteers as a registered charity. Programming centres on prayer, Mass, catechesis and Catholic teaching, with no advertising, funded entirely by listener donations. It reaches audiences via Saorview channel 210, online and on DAB+.
