East FM is East Auckland's community station, heard on 88.1 FM and 107.1 FM from Howick. It began in 2008 as Howick Village Radio, later joined with Botany Radio, and relaunched under its present name on 16 April 2016 to cover the whole Howick ward, from Maraetai to Manukau. Run by the Howick Radio Charitable Trust with around 30 volunteer presenters, it mixes classic rock and variety music with strong local coverage. The long-running Saturday show She'll Be Right on Saturday, hosted by PJ Taylor, champions East Auckland stories and new Kiwi music.
