Christmas FM Classical is the classical stream of Ireland's Christmas FM family, playing classical music and carols while the main station spreads its seasonal cheer. Christmas FM first broadcast in November 2008 and returns to FM each year under a temporary licence, traditionally running from 28 November to 27 December across Ireland's cities, staffed by around 100 volunteers. Since 2008 it has raised over €3.5 million for Irish charities, with its Magic of Christmas appeal supporting Barnardos, Barretstown and Make-A-Wish Ireland. The family's streams, including this classical one, continue online all year round.
