ChristianRock.Net began in 1998 from Springfield, Missouri, after founder Bryan Whitaker found local radio would not play the Christian rock he loved. Now a listener-funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry, its flagship channel plays today's Christian rock around the clock — the Petra and Stryper lineage carried on by modern bands — with song requests, weekly Top 30 and annual Top 100 charts. In 2005 it was named Best Internet Radio Network at the American Christian Music Awards.
