CAPITAL FM — the 91.3 Kampala station — is one of the pioneers of East African commercial radio, founded in 1993 by Patrick Quarcoo and William Pike. Its English-language mix of contemporary hits, news and talk, including the celebrated Capital Gang, reaches the whole country through relay transmitters in Mbale, Mbarara, Fort Portal, Gulu and Arua. Since 2026 it has been part of Next Media's stable of stations.
