ABC Radio Australia is the ABC’s international radio service, broadcasting to the Asia-Pacific since 1939, when it began as the shortwave service Australia Calling. Today it reaches Pacific and Asian audiences via FM partners, satellite and streaming with news, sport — including Pacific football and rugby league — and programs made for the region. It is Australia’s public voice to its neighbourhood.
