The Big WECK is Buffalo's hometown oldies station, broadcasting on 1230 AM from Cheektowaga, New York. The frequency signed on in August 1956 as WNIA, and its call letters nod to the kummelweck roll of Buffalo's famous beef on weck sandwich. Today WECK plays locally hosted oldies for the Buffalo-Niagara area and is simulcast on FM translators at 100.1, 100.5 and 102.9, under owner Buddy Shula's Radio One Buffalo.
