The Washington region's news habit, WTOP 103.5 is a commercial all-news station owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, serving the District of Columbia and its suburbs. Its lineage runs deep: a predecessor AM station adopted the all-news format on 9 March 1969, making WTOP one of America's original all-news outlets. The famous wheel still turns today — top stories, sports, business and, above all, traffic and weather "on the 8s," every ten minutes — reinforced by repeaters on 103.9 at Braddock Heights and 107.7 in Manassas.
