On the air since 1971, WSTX at 970 AM is Christiansted's talk institution, filling its daytime hours with shows hosted by community leaders and elected officials and switching to calypso and quelbe music once night falls. The Caledonia Communication Corporation station, which brands itself News Talk AM 970 and carries BBC Radio programming, turns to religious shows and urban gospel on Sundays.
