Broadcasting from Fordham University's Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, WFUV 90.7 has been on the air since 1947 — the call letters literally spell out "Fordham University's Voice." It became a professionally staffed public radio station in 1990 and is one of three NPR member stations serving New York City. Its signature sound is adult album alternative: thoughtful rock, folk and Americana, mixed with NPR news and championing of new songwriters alongside established artists.
