Ireland's national station for hit music and talk, Today FM first went on air on 17 March 1997 as Radio Ireland before taking its current name the following year. Owned by Bauer Media Audio Ireland, it broadcasts nationwide from Dublin with a mix of contemporary hits and big personality shows. The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show has been a morning institution for decades, while The Last Word with Matt Cooper anchors the evening schedule with news, debate and interviews. Add sport, comedy and chart countdowns, and it remains one of the country's most listened-to stations.
