Today FM is one of Ireland's two big national commercial stations, broadcasting pop and rock hits on 100–102 FM since 17 March 1997, when it launched as Radio Ireland. Owned by Bauer Media Audio Ireland, it is home to The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, one of the longest-running and most popular breakfast programmes in the country, and presenters such as Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore. Music, comedy and big competitions define its upbeat, mainstream sound.
