Heard on 90.2 FM in Auckland and in almost every market in the country, The Rock is MediaWorks' mainstream rock network and a rite of passage for Kiwi rock fans. It has championed New Zealand guitar music alongside the international canon since starting out in Hamilton in 1991, and its announcers are famous for stunts, wind-ups and unpredictable features. The annual Rock 2000 countdown, voted entirely by listeners, builds to a live Auckland finale that has become a fixture of the rock calendar.
