The Platform is a New Zealand online talkback station founded by veteran broadcaster Sean Plunket in September 2021. Based in Wellington and owned outright by Plunket, it broadcasts current affairs, news and sport entirely online, positioning itself as an independent, free-speech alternative to taxpayer-funded media. The weekday line-up is built around three talk hosts: Plunket himself at breakfast, former MP and broadcaster Michael Laws mid-morning, and Leah Panapa in the afternoons. Listeners drive much of the content through calls and texts, and the station has become a lightning rod in debates about media regulation in New Zealand.
