The Generator is a New Zealand online station for rock fans, streaming an energetic mix of classic rock, hard rock and heavy metal. Its playlists trace rock's evolution from the stadium anthems of the 1970s through to modern heavy acts, keeping the format guitar-led and up-tempo around the clock. The station also makes room for homegrown talent, regularly featuring emerging New Zealand rock bands alongside the international canon. Broadcasting in English over the web, it targets listeners who want their rock loud, familiar and fresh by turns.
