ThistleRadio is SomaFM's Celtic music channel, carrying the spirit of Fiona Ritchie's long-running NPR program The Thistle & Shamrock, which it succeeded in 2015. Like every SomaFM channel it is listener-supported and commercial-free, part of the San Francisco network Rusty Hodge founded in 2000. The playlist roams the Celtic roots and branches: Irish and Scottish traditional music, Welsh and Breton sounds, and contemporary folk artists who keep those traditions moving.
