Groove Salad is SomaFM's signature channel and the second station the network ever launched, back in 2000. Its recipe — ambient downtempo beats, spacey electronica and chilled grooves — basically defined internet chillout radio, and this stream carries it in high-quality AAC. SomaFM, founded in San Francisco by Rusty Hodge, remains commercial-free and funded entirely by listener donations. Groove Salad is still its most popular mix: the sound of a thousand desk jobs, coding sessions and quiet rooms.
