Drone Zone was the very first SomaFM channel, the experiment Rusty Hodge took from a 1999 Burning Man micropower broadcast to a full-time web launch in February 2000. This stream carries it in high-bitrate 256k MP3: deep space ambient, slow drones and textural soundscapes meant to be felt as much as heard. True to SomaFM's listener-supported, commercial-free model, there are no presenters or interruptions — just hours of drifting sound for sleep, meditation and focus.
