DEF CON Radio is SomaFM's channel for the hacker community, taking its name and much of its music from DEF CON, the Las Vegas hacker convention held since 1993. The playlist favours electronic music heard at the convention's parties and chill-out rooms — IDM, industrial, chiptunes and dark synth sounds. It streams in AAC as part of SomaFM, the listener-funded, commercial-free San Francisco network Rusty Hodge launched in 2000, making it a soundtrack for coders and conference nights alike.
