Deep Space One is SomaFM's channel for the far end of ambient: deep ambient electronic, experimental and space music, built from long, slow pieces that evolve over minutes rather than songs. Added to the network in 2013, it shares SomaFM's founding model — San Francisco-based, listener-supported and commercial-free since Rusty Hodge launched it in 2000 — but aims it at listeners who want to drift: music for focus, meditation, stargazing or sleep, as much atmosphere as composition.
