Beat Blender is SomaFM's blend of deep house, downtempo and chilled beats — a DJ mix that never quite stops. Part of the San Francisco network Rusty Hodge started in 2000, run without adverts and funded by listener donations, this channel sits between the lounge and the club: four-on-the-floor grooves softened by dubby basslines and jazzy samples. It is mixed for afternoons that drift into evenings, keeping a pulse without ever raising the tempo too far.
