Takoradi's Sankofa Radio, on 98.9 MHz, began test transmissions from Chapel Hill on 4 January 2021 and launched full programming on 1 February that year. Broadcasting mostly in local Ghanaian languages under the Fante tagline “Yɛnso Yɛndze Nyi” — this is ours also — it focuses on social issues, sports, music and education, and relays Mama Effe's well-known Obra programme.
