RTÉ lyric fm is Ireland's classical music station, launched by RTÉ on 1 May 1999 and based in Limerick. Heard nationwide on 96–99 FM, it offers a calmer corner of the dial: orchestral and chamber music, jazz, world and traditional music, arts features and live concert broadcasts, including performances from the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Programmes such as Liz Nolan's The Lyric Feature showcase its specialist, presenter-led approach to the arts.
