ROVA Chill Hop is one of the music-only channels on rova, the streaming app MediaWorks launched in January 2017 to carry its New Zealand radio brands. As the name promises, the channel runs a laid-back blend of chillhop and lo-fi hip-hop: jazzy instrumentals, mellow beats and downtempo rap classics from acts like A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots. There are no presenters or talk segments — just a continuous, low-key soundtrack designed for studying, working or winding down, streamed to phones, smart speakers and the rova website.
