Broadcasting on 104.4 FM across central London, Resonance FM launched on 1 May 2002, set up by the London Musicians' Collective as the world's first radio art station. Run largely by volunteers and supported by Arts Council England, it airs programmes by hundreds of musicians, artists and critics — experimental music, sound art, community voices and the weekday Clear Spot for one-off broadcasts — as a deliberate alternative to mainstream radio formulae.
