Owned by Global, Radio X is a national commercial station focused on alternative and indie rock. It began as Xfm, a licensed London station from 1997, and relaunched nationally as Radio X on 21 September 2015 on Digital One DAB and on 104.9 FM in London. The rebrand launched with Chris Moyles at breakfast, alongside Vernon Kay and Johnny Vaughan, playing guitar-based music from acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Blur and Radiohead.
