Radio X is an Auckland-based internet station operated by Empire Media, the independent company founded in 2012 that also runs the NZ Radio 1 news service and Truth FM. Empire Media rebranded its earlier TODAY station as Radio X, merging it with its U FM stream, and the result sticks to a simple motto: 'just great rock minus the bullshit'. Classic rock, grunge, punk, metal and alternative fill the stream, with rock news and new releases keeping listeners current. It broadcasts online only, from central Auckland.
