Radio One 91FM is Dunedin's student radio station, broadcasting on 91.0 MHz from the University of Otago since 6 February 1984 and owned by the Otago University Students' Association. It was a vital platform during the Dunedin Sound era, championing Flying Nun bands such as The Chills, The Bats and The Verlaines when commercial radio would not play them. A member of the Student Radio Network, Radio One still mixes student voices, local music and gig culture at the heart of Ōtepoti.
