OAR FM is Otago Access Radio, Dunedin's community access station, broadcasting on 105.4 FM and 1575 AM and streaming online. Established in 1991 as Hills AM and rebranded as Otago Access Radio in 2011, it is a not-for-profit platform where programmes are made by, for and about local communities, with around two hundred volunteers involved. As one of New Zealand's twelve community access stations, OAR gives airtime to voices mainstream media overlook: ethnic communities, youth, seniors, faith groups and people with disabilities.
