Manawatū People's Radio — Te Reo Irirangi o ngā Tāngata o Manawatū — is Palmerston North's community access station, broadcasting on 999 AM and online since 1997. Governed by the Manawatū Access Media Charitable Trust and supported by NZ On Air, it helps local people make their own radio: more than 70 shows in over a dozen languages, made by communities under-represented in mainstream media. Its signal stretches from the coast to the Manawatū Gorge, and from north of Levin to south of Whanganui. Before a 2007 rebrand it was known as Access Triple Nine.
