Mountainside FM is East Auckland's community station, on air since 2005 on 88.3 FM from Mt Wellington and 107.3 FM in Panmure. Known locally as "the voice of Tāmaki", this volunteer-run low-power station serves the suburbs around Maungarei/Mount Wellington with a warm mix of oldies, easy listening and country music. Operated by passionate locals and funded by community donations, it exists to amplify neighbourhood voices — local artists, community notices and charity events — in a part of Auckland the big networks overlook.
