This AAC stream carries MidWest Radio, County Mayo's local station, broadcasting from Clare Street in Ballyhaunis on 96.1 FM with relays including 97.1 for Achill and Belmullet. Founded by Paul Claffey, it began as a pirate in 1978 and again from 1985 before launching legally on 24 July 1989 as one of Ireland's first licensed local stations. Owned by County Mayo Radio Ltd, it is among Ireland's most listened-to local stations, mixing country and Irish music with news, sport and community programming for Mayo and its neighbouring counties.
