This second Mai FM stream carries the same Auckland-born network that first went to air in July 1992. Operated by MediaWorks since 2008 and broadcasting from Auckland studios to frequencies including 88.6 FM in Auckland and 105.8 FM in Waikato, Mai FM mixes hip hop and R&B with a proudly Māori kaupapa, normalising te reo Māori phrases on commercial radio. Its line-up is fully networked, giving listeners from Whangārei to Christchurch the same high-energy breakfast, workday and night shows.
