Radio Lilanguka — the name means “light” in Chiyao — is a Christian community station in Mangochi, at the southern end of Lake Malawi, which began broadcasting on 27 November 2017 after its licence was granted in 2016. Almost uniquely in Malawi, it broadcasts in the Yao language, Chiyao, carrying Bible teaching, preaching and community programming to a largely Yao audience within roughly a 50-mile radius of the lakeshore town.
