KREM Radio took to the air from Partridge Street in Belize City on 17 November 1989, when Kremandala Ltd. launched it as the first private radio station in Belize. It is heard on 96.5 FM in the city, with repeaters on 91.1 in Corozal and 101.1 in Belmopan, broadcasting from the same building as the Amandala newspaper. Reggae, dancehall and Belizean punta fill the music hours, while talk listeners get The Kremandala Show, the political commentary programme founder Evan X Hyde has hosted since 1994.
