KRCC 91.5 is Colorado Public Radio's voice for Southern Colorado, based in Colorado Springs and operated by CPR in partnership with Colorado College. It began in 1951 as the state's first noncommercial FM station, broadcasting from a World War II surplus transmitter, and joined NPR in 1984. Today a network of repeaters and translators carries its mix of local journalism, NPR news and evening music across the region's mountainous terrain.
