KASIE FM is a community radio station on 97.1 FM serving Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg, from studios in Katlehong. Founded in 1997, it only began broadcasting full-time in late 2007, and proudly calls itself “a kasie station for kasie people”. Its signal reaches the Kathorus townships of Katlehong, Thokoza and Vosloorus as well as Germiston, Boksburg and Alberton, with a music-and-talk mix rooted in township life.
