Toronto's JAZZ.FM91, CJRT-FM at 91.1, describes itself as Canada's only 24-hour all-jazz radio station and operates as a non-profit, charitable broadcaster. The station first went on the air on November 22, 1949, as an educational outlet of Ryerson Institute of Technology, and adopted its full-time jazz format in 2001. Alongside the main jazz mix, evenings and weekends bring specialty shows devoted to blues, big band and Latin jazz.
