Jazz 88 is the on-air name of KBEM 88.5 FM in Minneapolis, a station owned by Minneapolis Public Schools and rooted in a radio training program that began in the 1960s, with KBEM itself launching in 1970. Housed at North High School, it is Minnesota's only full-time jazz station: professional hosts carry most of the day, students produce several hours of programming each week, and the station also delivers official highway traffic reports produced with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
