J1 HITS is the flagship channel of J1 Radio, an internet service devoted to Japanese popular music. Its playlist centres on Japan's current chart hits and the defining J-pop of the Reiwa era, which began in 2019, drawn from domestic FM chart action. Sister channels cover the Heisei years and the late Showa period, but HITS is the one living in the present tense — new singles rotate in weekly, and the network's player even layers in Tokyo weather and earthquake updates alongside the music.
